A little space for me and what moves and drives me, what moves and drives me.

May I introduce myself?

Who I am and what drives me

Hello, I'm Fabian Brüggemann and in my work two seemingly different worlds come together: the structured business world and the creative world of improvisational theatre. My experience shows that this combination not only works, but also delivers transformative results - for individuals, teams and organisations.

Why

The name of my company, co&create, reflects exactly this interplay: corporate meets creative.

My approach is based on the power of co-creation - because true innovation happens when we develop new ideas together and boldly realise them. I believe that professionalism and creativity can - and indeed must - go hand in hand to enable new perspectives and success. With ease and a ‘yes, and’ instead of a ‘yes, but’, we create new solutions together.

From business to improvisation

My path

After studying business informatics, I began a career in an international management consultancy. There I learnt how teams work together and what challenges arise in the business world. I quickly climbed the career ladder and was about to be promoted to manager - as one of the youngest in the company.

A turning point in my life

But then my life changed radically. A period of depression forced me to pause and reorganise my life. This time was challenging, but it taught me what really matters: to be mindful of personal resources and to courageously break new ground.

The discovery of improvisational theatre

I first encountered improvisational theatre in 2010 and it quickly became my passion. I realised how helpful the skills of improvisation are not only on stage, but also in everyday professional life. As a qualified trainer and systemic coach (according to DCV guidelines), I have been using improvisational theatre methods in my workshops and seminars for companies, universities and NGOs for over 15 years.

What characterises my work

A safe space for mutual growth

In my training sessions, shared growth takes centre stage. I create safe spaces in which teams and individuals can develop. I use the principles and methods of improvisational theatre to promote skills such as teamwork, flexibility and confidence. These skills are essential today in order to be successful in everyday working life.

The principles of improvisational theatre

Improvisational theatre works if a few basic principles are observed. These can be applied not only on stage, but also in everyday working life:

Yes, and...

Accept and complement ideas instead of contradicting them. This is how good collaboration is created.

Make others look good!

Because co-operation & mutual support make both sides shine.

Decide in favour of the obvious option instead of blocking yourself with long deliberations.

Entscheide Dich für die naheliegende Option, statt Dich durch langes Überlegen selbst zu blockieren.

Make mistakes with joy!

Mistakes happen. That's why it's important to find a relaxed way of dealing with them.

It may seem like a lot at first glance. But as part of my courses, I always create safe spaces in which all participants can apply and practise the various principles. This makes it easier to remember and internalise the principles in everyday working life.
